So worth the money. A great companion to the book, the GPS locator makes getting around the island so easy!

This app made our trip! We used it numerous times daily!

It took me a day to effectively navigate the app, but once I did the content and detail is just perfect. We spent 10 days on the island and the app kept us busy with sights, activities and great beaches every day without much hassle to figure out where to go or what to do. Some feedback to make the app even better: - When you click on the map and to see what is near a location I want to filter on type (e.g. restaurants or beaches) - The search function does a poor job sorting things. For example if I search for a specific beach I expect that to be the first hit. - Show all my favorites on the map

This guide is really good. The printed version is known to be excellent and this digital version is even better. You do not need the hard copy. Index is organized either region of the island or type of content you are looking for, e.g. dining, beaches, sights, surfing, activities and so on. Once you click on the place you are looking for, you can call to make a reservation or click on directions - for this you need to have data connection - and Maps opens. So easy and thorough. Went to 2 restaurants with the ONO flag, and was as described in the guide.

Great book with juicy nuggets about the island. A must have for novice traveller.

Ive never written an app review, but had to for this one. Its awesome (as is the book). This was a great resource for us. Just zoom in on the map to the spot youre looking for, read about it and then get directions. Very easy to use. This really improved the quality of our trip. Thanks!

We used this app while visiting the island. We found restaurants, beaches, and hiking trails by using the location button. All were great finds.

This app is like an index of the Kauai revealed book where you can lookup things from a map. I much prefer the book format because its easy to read and the content progresses naturally from one topic to the next. With the app youll lookup random bits and pieces. First time visitors will get more out of the paper book whereas seasoned Kauai travellers will prefer the app, although the web is better for restaurant reviews and there are better apps out there like the Kauai gps tour guide. This app should be a free companion to the book. My biggest peeves with this guide: even after 9 editions the authors STILL have plenty of bad or missing information. For example, they fail to mention that youre prohibited from driving your rental car to Polihale and several other attractions that are described. They even describe how to drive on the beach! They claim to review all the businesses on Kauai but there are many tourist spots they dont bother mentioning, from great places to eat to quaint tourist shops, and several vacation rental agencies. Another annoyance - I accidentally purchased the app twice, not realizing that different editions are separate apps instead of upgrades - when wanting to load it onto my iPad. Why arent updates free as with every other app?

I really love this app. I also have the other apps for the other islands. I just really wish that we could have all of our favorites marked on the map - at the same time - so that when Im driving around the island I can see when I have something coming up. If this feature already exists, I apologize, but I did not find it. Without it, it is cumbersome to plan a sightseeing outing and route.

Besides being a fabulous guide. Text updates regarding weather and things to do such as parties and events makes this a must have on any Kauai trip!!!!

Read the book then get the app and all you need is your phone. App and GPS and you can have a great time. Hiking times are accurate. Some restaurants are not the same as in the book but most of the time the ONOs were right on. Need to find a better way to highlight the directions to places. Now they are buried in the overall description of activity. Overall love the way its organized.

The book is great. The app is better. All the information you need or want. Well designed and easily navigated. And the mapping capabilities (for both driving and hiking) are fantastic.

We turned to this app so many times throughout our trip and it never steered us wrong.

This is the most useful App I have ever used! Incredibly well thought out and intuitive. The feature where you just drop a pin on your current location and then everything from the guidebook near that point appears on your screen is fantastic. I used the favorites function to map out daily excursions. The guidebook is really good but the App is over the top!

We combined the iPad version with the hard copy and put together a great itinerary for our anniversary trip. Extremely valuable for planning and when first arriving to get your bearings on what is close, even better when youre on the island and spontaneously want to find a great place to eat. This was likely our one and only trip to Hawaii and I credit the book/app combo with making such an enjoyable trip. Consider the slight cost as trip insurance for a great time!

This app was a great help in planning out all of our activities. Directions to hikes were particularly helpful. I also appreciated their comments on tour companies for our Napali catamaran tour, and our zip line tour. It helped a ton. We did not have as much luck with the dining section. We went to a few of the restaurants based on their ono ratings. We struck out almost every time. Its disappointing to pay a lot of money for subpar food. I know that sometimes you just catch them on a bad day, but it happened a few times. Otherwise an excellent app.

I was not disappointed with a single entry in this guidebook. We snorkeled, kayaked, hiked, ate and drank with no guesswork about whether we were picking the right spot. I was especially impressed that the app was able to track our progress on hikes, with zero cell service. Super cool.

The Kauai Revealed app was one of best travel apps Ive ever used-- both in trip planning and Island use. The restaurant reviews were right on and the location function made actual island travel easy and informative. Cant recommend more highly.

I wouldve missed so many things that are must sees, and conversely would have wasted a lot of time on things that really werent worth taking precious time for if I would not have had the expert advice of these guys! From"must see" places and attractions to the best (and most overrated!) places to eat these guys really seemed to nail it. I used the app the entire time I was in Kauai and I honestly cant say that I was ever let down. If you are planning on visiting Kauai (and I HIGHLY recommend it) do yourself a huge favor and get this app!
